I just wrapped up a Screwdriver and Marking Tool Swap with some friend on one of the Woodworking forums.

As this was a Screwdriver swap first, the initial piece was screwdriver with a ratcheting drive. It was a bit tight though, I had to use some WD40 on it. The handle is locally sourced hand split American Elm. Finished with just a couple coats of paste wax.
Next are the marking tools of which I am most proud. Primarily because they are Ebony and who doesn’t need Ebony Tools close to hand. Both have Gaboon Ebony handles with paste wax finish. One, a marking knife with a Pfeil blade.
and the other is a scratch awl I made from O1 steel rod. I hope I got the heat treating right.
And it all came in a small box. It’s made from some colorful Poplar that was fun to build with. It has a set of pivot hinges (brads) and a tumbled stone knob from the Lake Michigan shoreline (epoxied in place). The box has a couple of coats of Boiled Linseed Oil and paste wax.
These were a fun set of projects to complete and hopefully really useful too.
